Q: Gina's Queston: I just read your first few chapters of JOURNALS and can't wait to read the next set. When will it be posted? I teach middle school students, so I'm anxious to see what happens next and thinking of sharing the story with my students next year. I received the link from the tvdance site, but don't know where I can sign-up to receive the rest of the chapters. Please add me to the list! :) Great job!
Asked by: Gina

Weezy's Answer: Thanks for your response. Let me know how your kids like the book. You can be notified about future chapters by clicking on the icon at the bottom of the chapters you've read. We are supposed to have six more chapters online today. Thanks for your feedback. Since you work so closely with kids, I'll be very anxious to hear what you think of the rest of the book!

Comment: I think that the journals are great and they're a good way to help people 10 - 15 who might be experiencing the same problems
Submitted by: hotchick

Weezy's Response: Here's the scary part. Much of this is auto-biographical. So, I'm thrilled to discover that there actually might be some kids as weird as I was. Embrace your weirdness!

Comment: I remember being 12 in 1970....great story so far!!
Submitted by: Kitra

Weezy's Response: Thanks. I think that times change much more than kids do. Being a kid was and is hard.

Comment: And I thought I have been mortified! This is awesome so far!
Submitted by: Cyberdiva

Weezy's Response: Thanks for enjoying my pain! The best part is getting through it. Remind yourself that it will be funny one day.

Comment: I like this book its really interesting i can actually relate to it.. keep writing it.. its really good
Submitted by: Lgata

Weezy's Response: You are very kind to write such nice words. (Notice, I'm only publishing the good comments.)

Comment: my daughter and I think this is a great start and want to read more.
Submitted by: gspoon

Weezy's Response: Fantastic. I hope that parents and kids will read the book together.

Comment: it is fantabulo!!!!!!!!
Submitted by: Steph

Weezy's Response: I like your vocabulo!!!!!

Comment: It's great...
Submitted by: Tiz

Weezy's Response: This works for me as well.

Comment: EXCELLENT!!! I have an 11 year old and it was just like listening to her. Thanks for the eloquent insight to a preteen girl's life!
Submitted by: nbmgr

Weezy's Response: Thank you. I don't have a pre-teen in the house, but some days I feel like I still am one.

Comment: I should have written this book--I lived a lot of it!
Submitted by: pember

Weezy's Response: We are stronger for having survived Middle School!

Comment: very interesting can't wait to read more.
Submitted by: Mary

Weezy's Response: More is coming. Thanks for writing.

Comment: It's wonderful! very authentic, and I like the style of alternating between the "adult version" and the "kid version" of events. Will share it with my 12-year-old daughter.
Submitted by: Suzanne

Weezy's Response: Thanks, Suzanne. Let me know, as we show more of my Dad's journal, (this is my Dad's actual journal) if that is as interesting an element of the story.

Comment: It's right on target with the things that happen to kids going through puberty. I am going to have my 12 year old read it I know she will relate!
Submitted by: Raquel

Weezy's Response: Thank you for that. Raquel. I hope she will relate and will let me know what she thinks.

Comment: it's really cool so far! and i can't wait for more chapters..its so convieniant to be emailed 10 min worth of reading every so often of a book.
Submitted by: Angel

Weezy's Response: Yes, but I think some people will be very angry if they thought they were goofing off and they suddenly have to face the reality that they've read a book.

Comment: I love these chapter Journals please send me more. Thanks
Submitted by: Jackie

Weezy's Response: We will do that for you within a week.

Comment: i think these few chapters were really cute. They are exact examples of what young teens or preteens are going through...even if im 15...i still enjoyed reading it and i want to read on!
Submitted by: Nat

Weezy's Response: Hey, Nat. 15 is still pretty tough and confusing. It does get easier though. You'll know exactly what to say to a boy, by the time you're 40 or 50.

Comment: I think this book is really good-especially for girls around my age, 11-15. It really gives a lot of good insight on howscary and unscary it is to go through the "becoming an adult" stage. I think every girl should read this and "Are you there, God, it's me, Magaret."
Submitted by: Sarah

Weezy's Response: Thank you. I read Judy Blume's book when I was finished writing mine. I had heard so much about it and just loved it. "Are You There, God. It's Me, Margaret," is a wonderful book and it's an incredible compliment that you would even compare my book to Judy Blume's! Thank you.

Comment: It is very very very good and interesting I can't wait to read the next couple chapters and find out if her mom or dad notices the journal is gone!!!!
Submitted by: Randi

Weezy's Response: We'll get the next hunk of chapters up in a couple of days. I can't tell you if her parents notice the missing journal, but I will tell you this... Reading her father's journal causes something truly amazing to happen for Lainie...

Q: Why do you leave your cookies in the oven so long? They are too crispy.
Asked by: RUF

Weezy's Answer: This one is from my Mom. As you can see, she is in a much better mood, however particular she may be about cookie texture and consistency.

Comment: very interesting, but short chapters
Submitted by: Tanya

Weezy's Response: Not as short as this answer.

Comment: This is really neat.
Submitted by: maya

Weezy's Response: Do you mean the book or internet technology in general? Cuz, yeah, this is really neat.

Comment: It relates to what im going through.
Submitted by: Carly

Weezy's Response: Thanks, Kellye!!!!!

Comment: very interesting...don't want to miss the next one.
Submitted by: maryb

Weezy's Response: I appreciate it, Mary. You can expect five new chapters, every two days.

Q: When do I get to read the book?
Asked by: Jennifer

Weezy's Answer: You can read it all right here. We will post five new chapters every two days. I know you probably read faster than that, but the dancing celebrities on this site are very slow readers and we need to go at a pace that does not frustrate them. (especially dancing George W... Can not read and dance at the same time.)

Comment: This book is great, I can't wait for the other chapters.
Submitted by: Shannon

Weezy's Response: We will keep the chapters coming, Shannon and thank you for your kind words.

Comment: it's great!

Weezy's Response: If you are reading Journals and you'd like to share any of your own personal experiences, please do it. The purpose of this book is to get people thinking and talking... about their lives, about the pain and confusion of childhood, about issues and events that effect us. Most imortantly, we want to get parents and children talking to each other. So, if you having anything to share about any of this, (or the series finale to Felicity, it doesn't matter.) please do so. Thanks for reading!

Comment: This book is too cute...I'm turning sixteen soon, so I've already gone through most of this stuff...Luckily, nothing as bad as what happened to Lanie has happened to me...I wish my father had a journal for me to read like that...I'll definitely continue reading this book!!!, You're a great author!
Submitted by: Blake

Weezy's Response: Wow! Thank you so much, Blake! That's so cool of you to write. Yeah, Lainie's having a tough time of it, but she's learning from it and if we don't learn from the tough times than what good are they? Not as good as the good times, would be the correct answer to that question.

Comment: really good reading..Can;t wait to read the next one.
Submitted by: Mary

Weezy's Response: Thanks for reading!

Comment: so far... I've really enjoyed the book. It is a great book and I'm looking forward to the rest!

Submitted by: jess

Weezy's Response: That's awesome! That's the best thing about reading, isn't it? It all unfolds inside your head, like your own, private movie.

Weezy's Response: Sweet! More are coming!

Comment: ilove this so much! but i think that maybe u should release more chapters at one time!
Submitted by: rson

Weezy's Response: Now that we're getting towards the end of the book, we're going to do just that. So stay with us!

Comment: This story is so awesome! It relates even now to everyday life!
Submitted by: Whitney

Weezy's Response: That's true isn't it?! Despite Lainie's unfortunate hairstyle and historical circumstances which force her to survive in a world without such basic necessities as cable TV and N'SYNC, Lainie's reality is not far from the reality of any modern girl!

Q: Whitney's Queston: Hey! This book relates to everyday life! I think it is so interesting to see what girls our age 30 years ago were like! Is your mom really that mean? JEEZEE PEEZEE
Asked by: cyberdiva

Weezy's Answer: No, my Mom is not that mean anymore. My mother acutally raised four kids, all two years apart, without much help from my Dad. As we got older, her mood improved greatly and she is today, the most spectacular lady you could ever meet.

Comment: Very good , very good ready, Can't wait for the next chapter and will be sorry for it to end. I really look forward to the next and the next....thanks
Submitted by: Mary

Weezy's Response: That's kind of you to write... the final chapters are fast approaching.

Comment: This is getting better! Wow!
Submitted by: Whitney

Weezy's Response: Thanks for being such a loyal reader and writer, Whitney!

Q: I wish I could read more and more chapters over and over! When will this be actually published?
Asked by: cyberdiva

Weezy's Answer: I do hope so. The book is currently being submitted to publishers.

Comment: I love this book, it gets better all the time and I don't think I've ever been so emotionaly touched.
Submitted by: Shannon

Weezy's Response: I am touched by that praise. Thank you so much, Shannon. Your opinion means everything to me!

Comment: BRILLIENNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTT!!! i espscially like the war journal lainie reads!!
Submitted by: anonymous

Weezy's Response: Thank you so much. That journal was written by my father, Marvin Palanker, who passed away nine years ago. He was my hero.

Q: Do you know Clayton Murray now? You are obviously not marries to him:-)
Asked by: Whitney

Weezy's Answer: That's a good question, Whtiney. No, I'm not married to anyone, that I'm aware of. There is no actual Clayton Murray. He's actually based on a couple of grown-up men I know. He's the sort of boy that I would have been drawn to and that I wish I had known.

Submitted by: Mollie

Weezy's Response: That's right, Mollie, you're not alone and kids throughout the ages have felt the same way.

Q: is the story the actual thing?
Asked by: anonymous

Weezy's Answer: Well, let's start with what is true. The journal is my father's actual journal and I did grow up in Buffalo, NY in the 70's. The stories in the book are based on real events. For instance, the bra over the undershirt humiliation did happen to me, however, it happened at camp.

Q: you guys had sent me all the chapters to this book until you sent me the last few chapters where it didn't work and when i went to come to see all the chapters available on this website you guys seem to have started over. how come?
Asked by: Colleen

Weezy's Answer: Yes, Colleen, we did start over. I don't feel it's a good idea for me to leave the entire book online for too long. So, we're putting it up in installments once again. They're all coming. Stay in touch.

Q: It's great! That story reminds me of the embarrassing feeling when I was about that age. It's a pity that the set of stories ended... I hope I can read more someday. Thanks

Comment: Im a 15 year old female and these situations that Lainie was in feel so familiar to me. This should be read my all parents to see what our lives are really like. They may have been through it, but times have changed, and some things are easier for other people. +
Submitted by: Miranda

Weezy's Response: I appreciate that, Miranda. I think it's easy for parents to forget what it feels like to be a kid. It would be wonderful if books like this could remind them.

Q: oh my lord this is such a great book. i absolutely cannot wait for the next chapters....you've got me on the edge of my seat! ++

Q: Joey Scarface's Queston: I am 15 and I still don't seem to hit pubirty.I want to know everything you know about this, and when it might happen. All my friends and even younger friends have, but I don't seem to be going through it.
Asked by: Joey

Weezy's Answer: I am not an expert on puberty, but from what I have read, between 10 and 16 is normal. Kids who who hit puberty at 10 are just as mortified as those who have to wait until 16, but it will happen. Don't worry.

Comment: This is fantastic. There are many accurate descriptions of what it was really like in middle school. It really speaks to me because middle school was the worst 3 years of my life thus far. Even though it is written from a girl's point of view, the issues this story addresses are relevant for both sexes. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Weezy's Answer: My sources say no.

Q: um,well,r u sort of like a "Dear Abby" person? Anyways were'd u get the name weezy? It sounds "unique".
Asked by: Yerrie

Weezy's Answer: My name, "Weezy" is short for Louise. I was a page on the Sit-com, "The Jeffersons," where Isabel Sanford played a character named "Louise," who was called, "Weezy," very loudly, by her husband, George. That's when all my friends started calling me, "Weezy." And, no, I'm not a "Dear Abby," person but if you need advice, I will give you some, whether I'm qualified to do so or not.
